Tonight the WFYI’s Echoes of Indiana Avenue features interviews with music legends Herbie Hancock and Herb Alpert.
Posts radio producer Kyle Long, ”The influential jazz producer Creed Taylor passed away last month. Taylor recorded music by some of the biggest stars in jazz, including many legends of Indiana Avenue.
For the next two weeks on Indiana Avenue, we'll share Taylor's work with Indianapolis jazz legends like Wes Montgomery, Freddie Hubbard, and J.J. Johnson.
On this week's show, we'll focus on Taylor’s work with Wes Montgomery. From 1964 to 1968, Taylor produced 10 albums for Wes Montgomery.
We’ll be joined by music legends Herbie Hancock and Herb Alpert. They'll share their memories of working with Montgomery and Taylor during the 1960s.”
